League-wide 3 on 3 Tournament

Weymouth Youth Hockey (WYH) hosts an in-house 3 on 3 tournament annually for all players in our regular season programs. This program is open to all players from Mite U6 to Bantam level who are registered with WYH for the regular season programs. It will consist of either 4, 6 or 8 teams for the younger division (depending on registrations and interest) and 4 teams total for the older division. The league runs from approximately mid-September to mid-November. All games will be played at the Connell Rink in Weymouth. The older division plays on a weekday evening and the younger division Saturday evenings. All games are played on half ice surfaces, so two games will be played at once. Each team will play a minimum of 8 games and each player will receive a 3 on 3 team jersey. The top 4 teams in each division will advance to the playoffs. The cost is usually $150 per skater and goalies will be at no charge.

Once registrations are completed, the House League Director will meet with the Level Directors to establish the teams so there is a level of parity for each. The teams will consist of 9 skaters and 1 goalie. For the U6 through U10 younger division there will be a pass the pads process for goalies. Teams will have players from every level however players will only play against players of their own age/skill. Because this will be during the regular season teams will be allowed to utilize substitute players from the same age/skill level if a conflict arises with the approval of the House League Director.

The goal of the league is parity and competitive games.  After the 4th game, the board will review the results and adjust teams to ensure parity.
